Καλλιτέχνης στο Ντουμπάι προσπαθεί να δημιουργήσει το μεγαλύτερο έργο τέχνης για καλό σκοπό

Τις τελευταίες εβδομάδες, ο καλλιτέχνης Sacha Jafri βρίσκεται σε απομόνωση στο θέρετρο Atlantis The Palm του Ντουμπάι.

Ωστόσο, αυτό δεν συμβαίνει λόγω της πανδημίας της Covid-19, αλλά για έναν άλλο λόγο: θέλει να δημιουργήσει τη μεγαλύτερη έργο ζωγραφικής σε καμβά στον κόσμο. Το έργο, μόλις ολοκληρωθεί, θα έχει μήκος 160 μέτρα και θα γεμίσει δύο μεγάλες αίθουσες χορού στο ξενοδοχείο.

Ο Jafri, ο οποίος είναι από το Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και ζει στο Ντουμπάι, δεν επιδιώκει απλώς να καταρρίψει ρεκόρ – αν και μόλις ολοκληρωθεί, ο πίνακας ζωγραφικής θα έχει σπάσει το Παγκόσμιο Ρεκόρ Γκίνες «του μεγαλύτερου κοινωνικού, καλλιτεχνικού και φιλανθρωπικού έργου που έχει δημιουργηθεί ποτέ».

Day 21 ‘The largest painting ever created on canvas’ ——————————— My Dream is that: ——————————— 1. The world is stripped of the ego. 2. That every Child, across all four-corners of the Globe, feels: Safe, Loved, & Brave. This is the only way that the Dreams of our Children are given a chance to grow wings and become a reality. 3. The greatest gift our creator gives us (Our Childhood), and yet sadly the first thing that we are encouraged, or ‘taught’, to forget. Με τη βοήθεια έργου ζωγραφικής με τίτλο «Humanity Inspired» αναμένεται να συγκεντρωθούν 25 εκατομμύρια δολάρια για εκπαιδευτικούς πόρους για παιδιά, καθώς και για νοσοκομεία και εργαζόμενους στον τομέα της υγειονομικής περίθαλψης στα Ηνωμένα Αραβικά Εμιράτα και σε όλο τον κόσμο.

Ο καλλιτέχνης φιλοδοξεί ότι το έργο του θα πουληθεί σε δημοπρασία και θα συγκεντρώσει την οικονομική βοήθεια.

Η πρωτοβουλία του καλλιτέχνη υλοποιείται σε συνεργασία με την UNICEF, το φιλανθρωπικό ίδρυμα Global Gift Foundation και την υποστήριξη της κυβέρνησης των Ηνωμένων Αραβικών Εμιράτων.

Για να γεμίσει τον καμβά, ο καλλιτέχνης κάλεσε παιδιά απ’ όλο τον κόσμο να στείλουν τις ζωγραφιές τους με θέμα την απομόνωση και τη σύνδεση, τα οποία στη συνέχεια θα προστεθούν στο πρώτο στρώμα του πίνακα. Η τελική έκδοση θα περιέχει 300 στρώματα βαφής.

Ο καλλιτέχνης ελπίζει να λάβει έργα τέχνης από εκατομμύρια παιδιά από περισσότερες από 120 χώρες. Την πρώτη μέρα που ανακοινώθηκε το εγχείρημα τον Μάιο έλαβε 6.000 συμμετοχές από 40 χώρες.

Στο Instagram ο Jafri αναφέρει ότι εργάζεται πάνω από 20 ώρες τη μέρα για να ολοκληρώσει το έργο τέχνης εντός 12 εβδομάδων.
