Μαίη Ζαννή

Η Μαίη Ζαννή είναι πρόεδρος και συνιδρύτρια της Women Act, μιας μη κερδοσκοπικής και μη κομματικής οργάνωσης για την ενδυνάμωση των γυναικών σε θέσεις ηγεσίας στη δημόσια σφαίρα στην Ελλάδα. Η Μαίη γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και αποφοίτησε από τη Σχολή Μωραίτη. Σπούδασε στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, Πολιτικές Επιστήμες και Ιστορία στο Queen Mary College του Πανεπιστήμιου του Λονδίνου. Έκανε μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές σε European Politics στο Birkbeck College του Πανεπιστημιού του Λονδίνου και σε Politics of Empire and Post-Imperialism στο London School of Economics.

Έχει επαγγελματική εμπειρία από την Βρετανική Βουλή των Κοινοτήτων, το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο στις Βρυξέλλες, την UNESCΟ στο Παρίσι και το Ινστιτούτο Δημοκρατίας Κωνσταντίνος Καραμανλής. Δούλεψε ως βοηθός έρευνας με αρμοδιότητα τη διασύνδεση ευρωπαϊκών think tanks για το Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) στις Βρυξέλλες και επί σειρά ετών ήταν στέλεχος με αρμοδιότητα τις σχέσεις με Διεθνείς Κυβερνητικούς Οργανισμούς στο Διεθνές Επιμελητήριο Εμπορίου (ICC) στο Παρίσι.

Με την επιστροφή της στην Ελλάδα εργάστηκε στο Υπουργείο Δικαιοσύνης, στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών και στη συνέχεια στον ιδιωτικό τομέα ως πολιτική αναλύτρια.

Η Μαίη υπήρξε αναπληρώτρια γραμματέας διεθνών σχέσεων και Ευρωπαϊκής ‘Ένωσης της Νέας Δημοκρατίας από το 2011 ως το 2016. Από το 2016 έως το 2019 ήταν αναπληρώτρια γραμματέας στρατηγικού σχεδιασμού & επικοινωνίας.

Το 2011 εκπροσώπησε την Ελλάδα στο ειδικό πρόγραμμα ηγεσίας του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών των ΗΠΑ για τις γυναίκες στη δημόσια διοίκηση “Women in Public Service”. To 2012 συμμετείχε στο πρόγραμμα του Ιδρύματος Κόκκαλη “Public Leaders in Southeast Europe” του Harvard Kennedy School στην Τουρκία. Το 2022 της απονεμηθεί το certificate για το πρόγραμμα “Women and Power” από το John F. Kennedy School of Government του Harvard University, Executive Education. Το 2023 συμμετείχε στο Georgetown Leadership Forum στη Washington DC.

Έχει υπάρξει αναπληρωματικό μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου της Φιλίππου Ενώσεως της Ελλάδος καθώς και μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου των Ελλήνων Αποφοιίτων του London School of Economics.

Έχει μια κόρη, την Ολυμπία.

May Zanni is the president and co-founder of Women Act, a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization empowering women in leadership positions in the public sphere of Greece. May is a political analyst with experience in government and public affairs, most recently as special advisor at the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic.

She obtained her BA in History and Politics from Queen Mary College, University of London, her MSc in European Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London and her MSc in Politics of Empire and Post-Imperialism from London School of Economics.

May has had work experience at the House of Commons in London, the Institute for Democracy Konstantinos Karamanlis in Athens, the European Parliament in Brussels and UNESCO in Paris. She worked as a research assistant focusing on the linkage of European think tanks for the Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) in Brussels and then for the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris where she was responsible for its Relations with Intergovernmental Organizations. When she returned to Greece, she worked as advisor to the Minister for Justice, to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and in the private sector as a political analyst.

May represented Greece in the International Visitor Leadership Program on “Women in Public Service” organized by the US Department of State in Washington, D.C in 2011. She completed the “Public Leaders in Southeast Europe” program of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Istanbul, Turkey in 2012. May also completed the “Women and Power” Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in May 2022. In October 2023 May attended the Georgetown Leadership Seminar at Georgetown University.

From 2011 until 2016 May was the Deputy International Secretary of New Democracy and from 2016 until 2019 its Deputy Secretary of Strategic Planning & Communications. May has served as an alternate member of the Board of the Jockey Club of Greece and also served as a member of the Board of the Hellenic Alumni Association of London School of Economics.

She is the mother of one daughter, Olympia.
