Greece lifted the travel ban since July 1 and relaunched the tourism season. Arriving tourists should carry the special Passenger Locator Form for each individual, a new required document to enter Greece for all the arriving people and the increased Covid-19 Coronavirus tests that are applied to most of the arriving cars, based on a special algorithm. Greece increased the testing capacity with the health crew of the National Public Health Organization EODY at the land borders. Greece will allow the entrance only to passengers with up to 72 hours prior to the arrival Covid-19 test with negative results in English from a certified laboratory. In August 2020 Greece is starting implementing new protective measures like local lockdown, changing the maximum number of people together and the working hours of restaurants, bars, beach bar etc against the spread of the pandemic outbreak, as people relax and avoid the guidelines. Until now Greece is counting 263 fatalities from the virus. Ολοκληρώθηκε από το Εθνικό Δίκτυο Γονιδιωματικής Επιτήρησης του ιού SARS-CoV-2, που λειτουργεί υπό το συντονισμό του ΕΟΔΥ, η γονιδιωματική ανάλυση σε 632 επιλεγμένα δείγματα που αφορούν στην περίοδο 14 Απριλίου έως 16 Μαΐου 2021.

Από τον έλεγχο των 632 δειγμάτων, αναδείχθηκαν συνολικά 454 δείγματα με στελέχη ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος (Variants Of Concern – VOC) και 154 δείγματα με στελέχη υπό διερεύνηση (Variants Under Investigation – VUI). Εκ των 454 δειγμάτων με στελέχη ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος, όλα αφορούν στο Β.1.1.7/UKlineage (Variant VOC 202012/01), ενώ τα 154 δείγματα με στελέχη VUI αφορούν στο B.1.1.318 (Variant E484K). Επιπλέον, αναδείχθηκαν 2 δείγματα με στέλεχος Variant S Gene Delete και 1 δείγμα με το στέλεχος C.36 (στέλεχος υπό παρακολούθηση, Variant Under Monitoring).

Από την έναρξη λειτουργίας του Εθνικού Δικτύου Γονιδιωματικής Επιτήρησης του ιού SARS-CoV-2 μέχρι σήμερα έχουν ελεγχθεί στην επικράτεια συνολικά 13.289 δείγματα από εγχώρια κρούσματα, εκ των οποίων τα τρία πιο συχνά στελέχη ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος ή υπό διερεύνηση που έχουν απομονωθεί είναι το Β.1.1.7/UK lineage (Variant VOC 202012/01), με ποσοστό 68,82%, ακολουθούμενο από το B.1.1.318 (Variant E484K) με ποσοστό 9,16% και το B.1.351/501Y.V2/South Africa (Variant VOC 202012/02) με ποσοστό 0,59%. Επιπλέον, έχουν απομονωθεί συνολικά 100 στελέχη ειδικού ενδιαφέροντος ή υπό διερεύνηση ή ενδιαφέροντος από δείγματα εισαγόμενων κρουσμάτων, εκ των οποίων 95 αφορούν στο Β.1.1.7/UK lineage (Variant VOC-202012/01), 3 στο B.1.351/501Y.V2/South Africa (Variant VOC-202012/02), 1 στο B.1.525 (VariantVUI-202102/03) και 1 στο Β.1.617.1 (VUI-21APR-01).
