Υπάρχουν περίπου 1,7 δισεκατομμύρια ενεργές ιστοσελίδες και αυτός ο αριθμός έχει διακυμάνσεις, καθώς καθημερινά ανοίγουν και κλείνουν χιλιάδες ιστότοποι. Αν αναλογιστεί κανείς το πόσες επιλογές υπάρχουν θα διαπιστώσει ότι η αναζήτησή μας περιορίζεται σε πολύ λίγους ιστότοπους, οι οποίοι όμως παίζουν ζωτικό ρόλο στη ζωή μας.
