H Amazon άνοιξε στο κοινό τα νέα της γραφεία στο κέντρο του Σιάτλ των ΗΠΑ σήμερα και η εικόνα είναι πέρα για πέρα εντυπωσιακή: ένας πολυχώρος που θυμίζει τροπικό δάσος!
Μετά από επτά χρόνια σχεδιασμού και κατασκευής αυτού του μοναδικής αρχιτεκτονικής κτιρίου, η εταιρεία ελπίζει πως με το νέο “Sphere Complex” («Συγκρότημα Σφαιρών») θα ενισχύσει τη δημιουργικότητα και την όρεξη των εργαζομένων για δουλειά. Χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο του χώρου είναι οι ευρύχωροι διάδρομοι που οδηγούν σε διάφορες κρυμμένες «φωλιές», αλλά και ανοιχτούς χώρους με τραπέζια και καρέκλες, ενώ το wi-fi υπάρχει παντού.
Πιο εντυπωσιακή, όμως, είναι η βλάστηση στο εσωτερικό των Σφαιρών, αφού περισσότερα από 40.000 είδη φυτών από όλο τον κόσμο φιλοξενούνται εντός των γυάλινων θόλων που «σκεπάζουν» τα γραφεία.
Η Amazon ξόδεψε τα τελευταία επτά χρόνια 3,7 δισ. δολάρια στην κατασκευή των κτιρίων και τις υποδομές των νέων της γραφείων, ενώ έχει ανακοινώσει πως πρόκειται να επενδύσει περισσότερα από 5 δισ. δολάρια για την κατασκευή της δεύτερης έδρας της σε κάποια άλλη πόλη των ΗΠΑ, όπου θα απασχολήσει 50 χιλιάδες υπαλλήλους – γεγονός που έχει οδηγήσει μεγάλες αμερικανικές πόλεις σε έναν ξέφρενο ανταγωνισμό.
